What is XPO?

XPO is an intuitive Web-based workflow solution for creating, managing, distributing, and archiving physician orders. It is time saving in that orders cannot be submitted to facilities unless required information is complete. It is efficient in that physicians, department names, procedures and descriptions are accessed from the HIM system, keeping data synchronized. Next, submitted orders arrive at the scheduler's desktop via the internet. At the desktop, a Ticker program, much like email notification, alerts the scheduler there are orders to process. After an order is scheduled in the HIM system, the order is automatically available to the appropriate testing department for viewing or printing.

With manual paper-based systems, orders can be lost or misfiled; however, XPO orders cannot be lost or misfiled. With any of the many search fields, orders can be viewed or printed based on the user's security level.
